Policies & Terms

LIABILITY

Although we take every precaution to ensure that you have a safe and fun trip, whitewater rafting does have inherent risks.

A waiver must be completed prior to the trip and is a condition of participation, this will be sent through upon booking. In addition, a Parental Consent form must be completed by the parent or legal guardian of any child under the age of 18 years prior to arrival at the riverbase. This is especially important if you are bringing someone else’s child (under 18 years old) rafting. All children aged 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

CANCELLATION BY GUESTS

Sometimes your plans may change or unavoidable situations arise that necessitate having to cancel or change your trip plans… we understand that. We provide you with a generous 24 hour cancellation policy for individual bookings on the Horseshoe Canyon and Kananaskis River trips, and 7 days for groups of 9 or more, group deposits are non refundable. Please note that our trips depart rain or shine.

However, please understand that once your trip is booked we reserve your space, assign staff and resources to ensure your trip runs smoothly. Since few of these costs are recoverable at the last minute, cancellations or reschedules inside of 24 hours (7 days for groups of 9 or more) of your scheduled trip departure are non-refundable and you will be fully charged.

CANCELLATION BY CHINOOK RAFTING

Although we rarely cancel due to lack of participation, trips are subject to a minimum of 8 guests. Chinook River Sports and its agents reserve the right to cancel any trips due to adverse water, weather and related conditions or insufficient bookings; a full refund will be made available in this event.

If we do have to cancel, rest assured we will do everything in our power to offer a comparable substitution. If we have time, we will contact you to offer that solution.  In some situations (for example if river levels rise overnight) we might have to make a last-minute decision. In this case, as soon as we know changes are needed, we will let you know. At that time, you can either cancel with a full refund, or you can choose the solution that we have offered.

Chinook River Sports acts as a booking agent for numerous other highly qualified rafting companies in addition to providing its own rafting services. We are your “One Stop Rafting Connection”.

CANCELLATION CIRCUMSTANCES AND THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

After the declaration of COVID-19 as a global pandemic on March 11, 2020 by the World Health Organization, our standard cancellation policies apply because COVID-19 and its consequences are no longer unforeseen or unexpected. Please read our cancellation policy thoroughly and ensure you understand all travel requirements to arrive on time for your tour in Canada. We encourage all travellers to purchase independent travel insurance to protect them in the event that they are delayed for any reason, including any related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
