MEET AT THE RIVERBASE

To Nakoda Lakeside Lodge from Calgary

  • Allow 50 minutes from the western edge of Calgary.
  • Travel west on Highway #1 (Trans Canada Highway) towards Canmore / Banff.
  • Approximately 63 km west of Calgary (just after you have crossed over the Kananaskis River), take Exit 114 onto Highway 1X & follow signs to Nakoda Lakeside Lodge.
  • The exit road curves around to the right onto Highway 1X towards Seebe/Exshaw.
  • Drive 3 km north on Highway 1X and then turn right (east) on the 1A Highway (towards Cochrane / Calgary.
  • The nearest landmark near our riverbase is Nakoda Lakeside Lodge is located 6 kms from the turnoff on the right hand side, our riverbase is located there.

To Nakoda Lakeside Lodge from Lake Louise, Banff And Canmore

  • Allow 1 and half hours from Lake Louise, 40 minutes from Banff and 25 minutes from Canmore.
  • Travel east on Highway #1 (Trans Canada Highway) towards Calgary.
  • Approximately 50 km east of Banff or 25 km east of Canmore, exit onto ‘South Ranch Road’ (Exit 114 Seebe/Exshaw Highway 1X)
  • Then turn left (north) towards Seebe/Exshaw & Highway 1A.
  • Drive 3 km north on Highway 1X and then turn right (east) on the 1A Highway towards Cochrane / Calgary.
  • The nearest landmark near our riverbase is Nakoda Lakeside Lodge is located 6 km from the turnoff on the right hand side.

Do NOT meet at our office location in Banff, our riverbase location is at Nakoda Lakeside Lodge, 40 minutes drive east of Banff.

Kicking Horse River Rafting

MEET AT THE RIVERBASE

Riverbase Address: 2936 Kicking Horse Road, Golden, BC (Please take Beaverfoot Road exit, off Highway #1)

GPS Co-ordinates: N 51o 13’59.6, W 116o 39’25.7

To the Riverbase from the East (Lake Louise, Banff and Calgary)

  • Allow 3 hours from Calgary, 1.5 hours from Banff and 1 hour from Lake Louise.
  • Travel west on the Trans Canada Highway (Highway #1) past Banff and past the Lake Louise turnoff.
  • Keep on the highway and you will pass a town called Field, approximately 20 minutes after Field you will leave Yoho National Park.
  • Take the next right turn onto Beaverfoot Road (via the underpass, off the highway).
  • Look for the Hydra signage. Cross over railway tracks and then over a bridge. Turn right onto Kicking Horse Road.
  • The site is the first driveway on the right, past the cabins with red roofs. Look for the Hydra sign.

To the Riverbase from the West (Golden, Revelstoke)

  • Allow 2.5 hours from Revelstoke and 30 minutes from Golden.
  • Take Highway #1 East and pass through the town of Golden.
  • We are located approximately 25 kms or 20 minutes from Golden.
  • Look for a right hand turn called Beaverfoot Road (a gravel road to your right). Turn right down Beaverfoot Road.
  • Look for the Hydra signage. Cross over railway tracks and then over a bridge. Turn right onto Kicking Horse Road.
  • The site is the first driveway on the right, past the cabins with red roofs. Look for the Hydra sign.

*Don’t forget: Golden is on Mountain Standard Time (same as Alberta).
